On paper, the pairing of award-winning writer Warren Ellis ("Transmetropolitan") with Japanese animation studio Madhouse ("Death Note") on a series of anime projects featuring high-profile Marvel characters seems like the perfect combination of comic book and anime fandom. On the screen, it looks even better.
The four-series anime project was announced during Comic-Con at a panel hosted by Ellis, and now the "Iron Man" and "Wolverine" trailers shown during the event have finally hit the 'Net.

According to the official announcement, the four series (we haven't heard which two characters will be the focus of the third and fourth installments) will debut on the Animax channel in Japan in 2010.
